[2] “I have an Amanda Bailey (of Philadelphia) in my family. She married my great grandfather, William H. White (jeweler, and silversmith) of Fredericksburg, VA. According to their wedding announcement in the Virginia Herald (1818), Amanda’s father was Chester Bailey, Esq. of Philadelphia. William went to Philadelphia to study his craft and apparently met Amanda there. Your Chester Bailey, buried in Fredericksburg, is probably Amanda’s father. How are you related? Let me know if you have any other information.”
